You bring up some great points about who is responsible for the tech addiction that runs rampant in public schools. I run a social emotional learning class in my school where I have students read out their daily screen time averages on their phones from the past week. Most students average around nine to eleven hours a day. I always ask them if thats how they envision they're day playing out, spending the vast majority of it staring at a two by four inch screen. All of them say no, but it hasn't seemed to help the behavior. I for one agree that the tech companies have created a monstrous health issue...but it also isn't going anywhere. Suing them is simply creating the illusion of action instead of actually addressing how to teach our students to use their phones in moderation.
